You Can Never Go Back, but You Can Change the Story’s Ending

Regret so often means I wish I could do it over again.  It echoes in the words, “If only…”  It’s the belief that life would be so much better than it is right now, if only different choices were made, or actions taken.

C.S. Lewis said it so well,

“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.” 

It’s a great reminder – no amount of wishing or worry can change the past.  The sun has set on your yesterdays.  But new endings are born every day with a single action.  You can never go back, but you can take a step in a new direction and create some wonderful future endings today.
