“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.” F. Scott Fitzgerald
A smile is a beautiful, simple and wonderful thing. Infectious. Contagious. It brings hope and calms fears and can penetrate sadness and loneliness. Even from a passing stranger, wanting nothing in return, a smile can bring comfort and remind us there are good people in the world.
A smile is free of cost, but generous all the same. Always but a moment away. Always a possibility.
I wonder though, how many warm, genuine smiles did you encounter today? For something so readily available, smiling faces seem to be in short supply.
Imagine the impact you could have if you smiled brightly at a dozen people throughout your day. As Thich Nhat Hanh said,
“Because of your smile, you make life more beautiful.”

A smile is so simple to give and at times so rare to see. Love this post.
