I’m looking at the room around me. I’m surrounded by a wide variety of things. A ukulele sits on a side table, beautiful paintings by Martin Wessler hang on the wall, books line my shelves, journals are stacked on the nightstand, a television is perched on the dresser, Alexa rests on a nearby shelf waiting to answer my questions. And the list goes on.
I haven’t given much thought to these items lately but at some point in the past, I was excited by each when I first brought them home. How easy it is to forget to enjoy the simple things around us.
Sometimes all it takes to add some enjoyment to life is to remember to appreciate what we already have. Life is short. What are you forgetting to enjoy?
Now if you’ll excuse me, I am going to read some books, write in my journal and maybe play a little ukulele. I hope you find some things to enjoy in your day.
Wonderful! Reblogging now

Our rooms sound similar – except it’s a violin for me. 🙂
