“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain
Assuming we can avoid the obvious, very bad things people sometimes do, things they actually will regret the rest of their lives (drunk driving, committing felonies that send them to prison for the rest of their lives), Twain’s words strike a chord that resonates in all of us. They clarify the reality that we miss too many of life’s fantastic adventures because we are afraid.
We all have our own safe harbors, the well-trodden patterns of life. People, places, things. The comfortable, the known, the unadventurous. By staying so close to the known shores of life, what are we missing?
What life might be waiting for you if you were willing to sail out past your comfort zone? Where might your days take you if you were willing to explore, dream and discover? Throw off the bowlines. Catch the wind in your sails. Do something today to avoid disappointment tomorrow. Don’t miss the adventure!
“It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live.” Marcus Aurelius
Great quote at the end.. yes, we have fear some way or another to disappoint people around us or ppl we love or ourselves. But we shouldn’t….

Food for thought – a helpful prompt to step back from the busy- busy, and reflect.
