About 1,000,000 new books are published every year, with an estimated 130,000,000 total published in modern history. Words proliferate. We are inundated with more written matter than can ever be consumed. Yet, through the mass of written material, poetry finds a place that endures. It brings to life words in a way that stir and inspire.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was an American poet from the 1800’s. Some of his most famous poems include, Paul Revere’s Ride and The Song of Hiawatha, but my favorite is a poem called, A Psalm of Life. Below is a portion of the poem that encourages us all to live life to the fullest. May you find yourself tomorrow, farther than today.
